Perhaps this is because I failed to register versions 5.0 and 5.5 after downloading these upgrades."Īladdin replies: "John Etnier is correct: a new number is issued which is displayed on the Thank-you screen (and e-mailed) but, yesterday afternoon a batch of 196 old registration numbers went out by mistake. John Etnier offers what may be the explanation: "A new registration number is issued with the upgrade, and appears on the confirmation page, the one which allows you to download." Jim Weston adds: "My StuffIt Deluxe 5.5 and 5.0 serial numbers failed, but my StuffIt Deluxe 4.5 serial number worked. Registration number error Several readers (but obviously not all) report that, when trying to upgrade to StuffIt Deluxe 6.0, an error appeared saying: "The registration number entered does not match known valid registration numbers for this product."
